1. Raw materials and product range
Raw materials that make up our garments, according to their origin:
Natural
Raw materials of natural origin such as cotton or wool, with qualities such as absorption, thermo-regulation or breathability.
Renewable
Resources which are able to recover in a short period of time without endangering their survival, such as bamboo or lyocell.
Recycled
Recycled raw materials to promote the circular economy, reducing the consumption of virgin resources and the level of emissions.
Natural

Velamen S.A. is a member of BETTER COTTON and supports its initiative, which aims to promote a more responsible cotton consumption worldwide

Cotton from crops that comply with environmental and social requirements

Polyester filling for pillows and duvets made from recycled fiber, from Post-consumer bottles. Also used in our recycled polyester yarn.

Our waterproof and breathable polyurethane film is recycled and produced from Pre-consumer production waste.
REGENERATED COTTON
GRS Certificate
The regenerated cotton comes from leftovers from the pre-consumer textile industry. It is used for the production of leather and thread.

Our polyamide yarn is of recycled origin.

Our bamboo fabrics are made from bamboo thread sourced from forestry operations that meet demanding social and environmental standards.
Washing and maintenance of your Velfont products
You can contribute very easily to the environment by always washing your clothes at the lowest possible temperature. Whatever the composition of your garment, and even if it allows very high washing temperatures, if you wash it at low temperature you will be extending its useful life and contributing your grain of sand to the planet. Also avoid the use of chemicals such as bleach, due to its high level of contamination.
2. Production process and operations
LOCAL PRODUCTION
We contribute to the development of the local textile sector, making Km 0 garments. In addition, we work with local producers in the development of alternative raw materials to imported ones.
VERTICAL INTEGRATION
Direct control over all phases of the process. Total visibility from start to finish, from the procurement of raw materials to the shipment of the product.
OPTIMIZATION OF RESOURCES
Reduction in the consumption of raw materials thanks to an exhaustive control of waste during the production process and of batches/rotation of materials, with an impact on the volume of waste generated by obsolescence.
INSTALLATION OF SOLAR PANELS
Our plant has solar or photovoltaic panels that produce electricity from sunlight, an inexhaustible source of energy.
GREEN POWER
Improvement of the warehouse and duvet plant layout and padded protectors to minimize operator movements.
WORKSHOPS FOR LABOR REINSERTION
We delegate part of the handling operations to reintegration workshops for people at risk of social exclusion.
BEST SUSTAINABLE PRACTICES
The Best Practices of sustainability are applied by all of us to generate the least volume of waste and favor recycling, reduce energy, water and office material consumption.
